CNC Lathe Setup / Operator:
We are looking for a CNC Lathe Setup / Operator that's motivated, has good judgment, and is willing to learn. You will be responsible for the setup and turning of complex steel parts. Programming is a plus but not necessary to have Prior experience with G-Code programming language. You should have the ability to use measurement tools like calipers and micrometers and good math skills are a must. You must have the ability to read mechanical drawings and job routers to determine the proper machining process, including the tooling and Work holding needed. The ideal candidate should have a basic knowledge of machine shop practices and be willing to work in a team environment. Okuma, Mori & Haas lathe programming experience is a plus.
The job duties and responsibilities include:
· Set-up and manage CNC lathes to perform different jobs
· Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
· Load programming & identify opportunities for improvement.
· Setup machine according to turret tooling and work holding plans
· Ensure the CNC lathe operates in accordance with company operational procedures.
· Perform preventive maintenance routinely to guarantee functionality.
· Document production and quality logs.
· Report quality issues, and machinery performance issues.
Other Skill Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training is a plus
· Ability to translate mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
Strong comprehension and analytical abilities.
· Good computer and mathematical skills.
· Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy & compliance with specifications
· Collaborate with team members to resolve part processing issues
· Report progress to shop floor supervisors.
· Ensure compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
· Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
· Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
