Position Summary

Speedgrip is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop safe, efficient, and repeatable machining processes for complex, close-tolerance components. This position will program CNC turning and milling equipment, support machinists during setup and prove-out, and continuously improve cycle time, tooling, quality, and process reliability. The ideal candidate has strong programming experience, practical machining knowledge, and the ability to take a component from drawing review through successful production.

Key Responsibilities

·        Create and optimize CNC programs for turning, milling, and multi-tasking equipment.

·        Review engineering drawings, CAD models, tolerances, and material specifications.

·        Develop machining sequences, setup plans, tooling selections, and workholding methods.

·        Use Master CAM software to create toolpaths and machine-ready programs.

·        Support machine setup, program prove-out, and first-piece inspection.

·        Troubleshoot programming, tooling, finish, tolerance, and cycle-time issues.

·        Establish appropriate speeds, feeds, tools, inserts, and cutting strategies.

·        Create setup sheets, tool lists, and clear operator instructions.

·        Work closely with engineering, quality, and production personnel.

·        Recommend tooling, equipment, and process improvements.

·        Maintain organized program files and appropriate revision control.

·        Train and assist CNC machinists as needed.

·        Support continuous improvement, cost reduction, and on-time delivery goals.

Qualifications

·        Demonstrated CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.

·        Experience programming CNC lathes and machining centers.

·        Experience with multi-axis or mill-turn machines is highly desirable.

·        CAM programming experience required; Mastercam experience is preferred.

·        Experience with Okuma or similar CNC controls is beneficial.

·        Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, GD&T, and machining practices.

·        Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.

·        Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

·        Ability to work independently and collaborate with operators and engineers.
